Unwind to the soundtrack of native birdlife or help yourself to a kayak from the boatshed and head down the river to the stunning and deserted sandy beaches of Takou Bay.
Tucked into the trees, the self-catering cottage is ideal for a couple; the king bedroom which opens directly onto the lawns has an en suite bath and shower. The second Queen bedroom, also with en suite bathroom, can either be used as a spacious dressing or second bedroom catering for 2 couples or a small family of up to 4 guests.
Gaze across the river or up at the stars from your secret tower in the tree tops, the perfect spot for a sunset toast; luxuriate in the king bed with cosy linen, feather duvets and blankets; snuggle into the comfy furniture and enjoy the perfectly appointed kitchen and bathrooms with eco-friendly toiletries; and wake up to dappled sunlight through the trees, the sound of birds and absolute peace and tranquility.
Two double en suite bedrooms on the ground floor open directly into the gardens. A spacious hallway featuring antique wooden stairs leads up to the sunny northfacing open plan living area. The fully equipped kitchen area is designed for self-catering (with a gas hob and electric oven, espresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, crockery, utensils and appliances). The living area features beautiful reclaimed timber floors and relaxing sofas, and flows out to the private north facing sun deck. Equipped with a gas bbq, tables and chairs, sun loungers and its own private romantic alfresco claw foot bath with limitless hot water, the deck is the perfect place to relax. A unique lookout tower perched above the cottage offers guests beautiful river views. River Cottage also has a cosy wood fire.
River Cottage is private and self-contained with one wall adjoining Summer Cottage. The cottage is equipped with a TV, DVD, music player, WiFi, relaxing candles, fresh flowers and magazines. It is free from mobile phone coverage, and a phone for local calls is available in the guest office.
